Therapy Services at Neurocare Therapy

Living a life filled with easiness, connectivity to others, and happiness is what we all desire. However, emotions like depression, fear, and anxiety can often disrupt our journey, affecting our well-being at various points in life. Through specialized counseling and empirically-based treatment, I can assist you in recovering the motivation, perspective, and joy that may feel lost.

At Neurocare Therapy, I focus on your unique needs by employing a range of proven therapeutic modalities. These include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), couples therapy, and trauma therapy, among others. I also utilize (i) dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), (ii) positive psychology therapy, (iii) behavioral modification therapy, (iv) narrative and externalized therapy, (v) social learning therapy, (vi) gradual exposure therapy, (vii) mindfulness-based therapy, (viii) psychodynamic therapy, and (ix) psychoeducation. This allows me to customize a treatment plan specific to you, tailored towards the exact goals you desire to achieve.

Trauma & PTSD

Your inner peace matters. Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger after traumatic events. Additionally, complex trauma can settle into your body, causing various physiological maladies. I can help you work through these symptoms by offering trauma therapy that utilizes a comprehensive three-step process toward healing.

In calming your sympathetic nervous system, I employ various methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), couples therapy, critical incident stress debriefing, stress inoculation therapy (SIT), narrative and stress-externalized therapy, prolonged exposure therapy (PET), mindfulness-based therapy, and psychoeducation, to guide you back to peace.

Couples & Family Therapy

Your significant relationships hold immense value. Couples therapy is beneficial for all partners, at any stage of their relationship, who are seeking to strengthen their emotional and physical connection. Regardless of past hurt or disconnection, you can heal and return to a vibrant emotional state.

I specialize in research-based methods, as they help provide unbiased assessments in the realm of trauma therapy. The approaches I've found most effective include: (i) the Gottman Method, (ii) Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT-C), (iii) family systems therapy, and (iv) narrative and externalized therapy. Through these therapeutic methods, I can help couples acquire practical skills, enhance effective communication, and establish core values. Additionally, written assessment tools will support the creation of a customized therapy treatment plan that fosters the intimacy, happiness, and joy you truly desire.

Grief & Loss

When loss and heartache show up unexpectedly in our lives, one can feel either overwhelmed in a 'foggy numbness', or hyper-realistic with irritation and anger. I understand. With compassion and empathy, I can help guide you safely back into an emotional middle-ground of stability and healing through various approaches, including couples therapy and trauma therapy.

To effectively achieve this, I utilize: (i) grief counseling therapy, (ii) mindfulness-based therapy, (iii) narrative and externalized therapy, (iv) cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), (v) positive psychology therapy, and (vi) psychoeducation to help you move forward, while still retaining cherished memories.

Substance Addiction & Eating Disorders

Experience freedom from the chains that bind you. When struggling with any kind of addiction, it can feel like you are in a continual battle against the relentless 'beast' of addiction. I can help you gain a clearer understanding of what your addiction is protecting you from and how to approach the 'root' of the issue from a fresh perspective. By shifting your inner lens, you can choose a new path forward and ultimately discover peace.

I utilize only proven empirically-supported treatments (ESTs), including motivational interviewing therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), couples therapy, trauma therapy, narrative and externalized therapy, behavioral modification therapy, positive psychology therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy to assist you in finding an uncharted route back to freedom.

"The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers." - M. Scott Peck
